 EDINBURGH HOUSE CONCERT

07.04.13

THE GLAD CAFE GLASGOW

An improvised performance that will incorporate 16mm films cherry- picked from the Bandita Archive. Hidden behind delicate fabric screens, the musicians will be feeding off the projected images, while we Banditas in turn will be manipulating the images in response to the music. Imagine if you will, a frenetic jam session or dance between two forms of energy: sound and light!

For Fuaim is Solas the Banditas will be collaborating with musicians Martin Green (accordionist, composer, producer - Lau, The Green Machine, Monstre), Una Monaghan (harpist and composer – Sonic Arts Research Centre), and Tim Matthew (fiddler, composer, producer – Mystery Juice, Kiddy Cinema). We are thrilled to be embarking on this improvised journey into sound and image. We will be drawing upon a mystical, surreal and awe-inspiring selection of 16mm films picked from our archive (showcasing new acquisitions from the Edinburgh Film Guild) to generate a double projection barrage from our trusty Elf projectors! Flickering images from the past will be interrupted, distorted, re-shaped and thrown around the space, and music emanating from the stage will be re-channelled and re-distributed to create a sonic/visual experiment.  Come, be present, and witness!
